Bob is a convenient translation and OCR utility.
Translation Features
- Text selection translation: Select the text you need to translate and press the text selection translation shortcut (default ⌥ + D) to translate it.
- Screenshot translation: Press the screenshot translation shortcut (default ⌥ + S), capture the area you need to translate, and it will be translated.
- Input translation: Press the input translation shortcut (default ⌥ + A), enter the text you need to translate, and press Enter to translate.
- PopClip invocation: After selecting the text you need to translate, click the PopClip Bob plugin icon.
- Word lookup: Bob not only supports translation; if the corresponding translation service provides enough information, you can also use Bob as a simple word lookup tool.
- Multiple simultaneous translations: If you need to compare the results of multiple translation services, you can enable multiple translation services. Currently, up to 12 translation services can be enabled at the same time.
- History & Favorites: The translation feature supports saving translation history and favoriting translation results.
OCR Features
- Screenshot OCR: Press the screenshot OCR shortcut (default ⇧ + ⌥ + S), capture the area you need to recognize, and the text will be recognized.
- Silent screenshot OCR: Press the silent screenshot OCR shortcut (default ⌥ + C), capture the area you need to recognize, and the text will be recognized in the background.
- Finder image selection OCR: Press the Finder image selection OCR shortcut (no default shortcut), select an image file in the Finder window, and the text will be recognized.
- Offline recognition: Offline text recognition is available on macOS 11 and later.
- Continuous recognition: After enabling continuous recognition mode, Bob will concatenate the recognition results in the text box in sequence.
- QR code recognition: Automatically recognizes QR codes in images.
- Auto copy: Automatically copies OCR recognition results to the clipboard.
- Smart segmentation: Intelligently restores paragraph information in images.
