SaneClip is a clipboard manager for macOS that focuses on privacy, security, and convenience without getting in the way.
Stores the entire history of copied items (text, images), allowing you to quickly find, edit, and paste old items, while maximally protecting user data.
Peculiarities
- Touch ID / biometric security – the only clipboard manager with full history locking using fingerprint (or Face ID).
- Strong encryption – all history is encrypted on the device, keys are stored in the secure macOS storage (Keychain), nothing goes to third-party servers.
- Auto-detection and cleaning of sensitive data – automatically recognizes and deletes (on a schedule) card numbers, SSN, passwords, tokens, private keys, etc.
- Ignoring passwords from managers – does not save copies from 1Password, Bitwarden, LastPass, Dashlane and similar ones (so as not to clutter up the history).
- Cleaning rules – automatic removal of tracking parameters from links (utm_*, fbclid, etc.), trimming spaces, normalizing line breaks, removing duplicates.
- Color-coded by source – each clip is labeled with the color of the application it was copied from.
- Search, edit, unlimited history – instant search, word count, clip editing.
- Hotkeys and conveniences – ⌘Shift+V to open history, ⌘1–9 for quick insertion, Vim-like navigation, Paste Stack, text transformations on insertion (UPPERCASE, lowercase, Title Case, reverse, etc.).
- Pins and snippets – pinning important elements, creating reusable text templates with placeholders.
- Auto-expiration – clips can be automatically deleted after 1 hour / 24 hours / 7 days (except pinned ones).
