Two Unique Watercolor Painting Styles

PhotoArtista – Haiku provides two different watercolor processing modes, each using a unique color expression method to help users create watercolor works with different artistic styles.

• Abstract Watercolor: Directly extracts colors from the original photo and mixes them into droplet-shaped watercolor color blocks, then distributes them according to the highlights, mid-tones, and shadows of the image, creating a naturally flowing, layered abstract watercolor effect.
• Stylized Watercolor: By overlaying rich and colorful watercolor color blocks, it creates a kaleidoscope-like artistic effect for photos. This mode also provides the Paint Color Shift function, allowing users to independently adjust the hue of watercolor pigments without being limited by the original photo colors.

Flexible and Rich Artistic Effect Adjustment

Haiku provides a fully functional Adjustments panel, where users can freely control watercolor pigments, ink line outlines, image details, and other parameters to finely adjust the final visual effect of the work.

• Watercolor application area: You can select the range where the watercolor effect is applied, including Shadows, Mid-Tones, Highlights, and Full (the entire image), thereby controlling the watercolor expression in different light and dark areas.
• Pigment parameters: Adjust the transparency of watercolor pigments through Strength, use Wet Edges to control the size of the wet outline around watercolor color blocks, and adjust the coverage of pigment on the image through Paint Area.
• Ink outline: Adjust the thickness and opacity of lines through Ink Outline, use Ink Outline Detail to control the fineness of the outline, and adjust the ink fill effect in dark areas through Ink Fill. In addition, you can freely modify the ink line color to create different artistic styles.
• Paper texture and borders: The software includes 54 aged, worn, and stained paper backgrounds, as well as 14 delicate and soft decorative borders. These textures and borders can naturally blend with ink outlines, adding the texture of traditional painting and a retro atmosphere to the work.

Selective Mask Function

In subsequent version updates, Haiku added the Selective Mask function, allowing users to more precisely control the area where the watercolor effect is applied.

Users can use green lines to mark areas that need the watercolor effect, and use red lines to mark parts that do not need the effect. The software will automatically identify the processing range based on these marks and apply watercolor textures and artistic effects only in the specified areas.

This function helps users retain important details in photos while artistically processing the background or specific objects, making the work more layered and personalized.

Custom Presets and High-Definition Image Export

Haiku supports saving satisfactory effect parameters as custom presets, making it convenient to reuse them when editing other photos later without needing to readjust complex settings each time.
