HarborDrop is a download manager designed for users who find the built-in browser download functionality insufficient. It aims to fully replace the popular Internet Download Manager (IDM) and is optimized for the Apple ecosystem.
Features
- Accelerated segmented downloads: Files can be split into multiple parts (up to 6 segments by default, customizable) and downloaded simultaneously. This method utilizes network bandwidth more efficiently and significantly speeds up large file downloads.
- HLS and m3u8 streaming download support: The software can parse video transmitted via the HLS streaming protocol (m3u8 playlists), enabling downloads of DRM-free videos from most websites for offline viewing.
- Browser integration: Companion extensions support Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc (Chromium-based), and Firefox browsers, capturing file links, all links on a page, and media resources, and forwarding them directly to HarborDrop for download.
- Automatic file organization: Custom rules based on website domain or file type automatically sort downloaded files into corresponding folders.
- Post-download actions: Trigger various actions after download completes: reveal the file in Finder, run scripts (AppleScript, Shell script, JavaScript), or perform other custom operations.
- Website resource grabber: Batch grab and download all links (or links matching specific rules) from a page according to a set page depth level.
